Image El Caminito del Rey Path is to be opened on March 28th and tickets can be booked on the web page www.caminitodelry.info from tomorrow on 23 February 2015 Tickets are free but it is compulsory to book them. Six hundred tickets per day are to be printed for a full route, between King’s Chair and the train station, which is 8.5 kilometres long. Mr Bendodo underlines that this is active tourism which has recovered an internationally famous attraction spot after having invested €5.5m.
Image Málaga County Council is to open El Caminito del Rey path before Easter after having invested 2.24 m euros in it 26 January 2015 Ardales, Álora, Antequera and Abdalajís Valley will hand over the management of the infrastructure to the above governmental body until it is put in a public tender. Elías Bendodo stresses the agreement between the provincial government, the town councils, the Andalusian and Spanish government that made this project real. The entrance is free but there is to obtain a ticket, and necessary measures will be taken to protect the environment and visitors.
Image Sevilliana Endesa company is to colaborate with the Málaga County Council in decorative lighting of the path – El Caminito del Rey 31 July 2014 The electric power company and the government of the province are to design artistic lighting of the new boardwalk and the surrounding area of the gorge – El Desfiladero de los Gaitanes in order to make it more attractive for tourists. The exhibition called ‘Illuminated Heritage’ with 64 photos can be seen in the County Council headquarters until 31st August.
