Image The Great Málaga Path, El Caminito del Rey Path and the Coastal Path are to obtain information points with WiFi, lightening and USB chargers 13 February 2015 This is a pilot project, which will be extended progressively, and is meant to reinforce financial power of the municipalities from the area. This innovative device was made by Sunrise Gridfree Company, and it was supported by the County Council and the Town Council of Málaga.
Image Málaga County Council is to open El Caminito del Rey path before Easter after having invested 2.24 m euros in it 26 January 2015 Ardales, Álora, Antequera and Abdalajís Valley will hand over the management of the infrastructure to the above governmental body until it is put in a public tender. Elías Bendodo stresses the agreement between the provincial government, the town councils, the Andalusian and Spanish government that made this project real. The entrance is free but there is to obtain a ticket, and necessary measures will be taken to protect the environment and visitors.
Image Route round Spain in 2015 is to have four stages in the Province of Málaga. 17 December 2014 It starts at Banús Port, goes along El Caminito del Rey path and through, at least, eleven municipalities. Banús Port – Marbella, Alhaurín de la Torre – El Caminito del Rey, Mijas – Málaga and Estepona – Vejer de la Fronter are stages that give Málaga a key role in the Spanish Route. Mr Bendodo emphasizes that the event will have important influence on towns’ economy and, after the broadcast in 178 countries, it will promote them worldwide.
