TORRENTIAL RAINS. IMPORTANT WARNING. PLEASE EXTREME THE PRECAUTIONS
Due to the recent and intense rains of the weekend of October 20 and 21, 2018, many trails can be cut, flooded or not have adequate signage.
We recommend maximum care as well as extreme precautions if you plan to walk through them.
Changes on the routes of the following stages: 7, 9, 10, 12, 21, 26, 29 and 32
Stage 7 Cómpeta - Canillas de Aceituno
Project in progress. The road from Sedella to Canillas de Aceituno is to be removed from this route.
Stages 9 and 10 Periana - Alfarnatejo (Pulgarín Alto) – Alfarnate
Project in progress. The way across some plots is removed from the route due to disagreement with the owners, as well as the road from Pulgarín to the Sabar Pass.
Stage 12 Villanueva del Rosario - Archidona
Finished project. The access road to the town from the motorway was removed from the route, and it approached the river. The hard shoulder was extended and adapted for hikers.
Stage 21 Álora (El Chorro) - Carratraca – Ardales
Finished and officially opened project. The busy lane from Bobastro to Ardales was eliminated from the route, and the Town of Carratraca and its mountains were added.
Stage 26 Jimera de Líbar - Benalauria
Project in progress. The Access road to Benalauría is changed for a new path that starts at the local swimming pool.
Stage 29 Casares - Estepona
Finished project. The approval from the Town Council is pending and so the application for the financial support in kind. The road from Peñas Blancas was removed from the route.
Stage 32 Ojén - Mijas
Finished project. The approval from the Town Council is pending and so the application for the financial support in kind. The line which is being asphalted was removed from the route, and the trail was moved northwards, so the Towns of Monda, Coín and Alhaurín el Grande became part of it.
Temporary closure of a section of Stage 2
We inform of the temporary closure of the 249 Long-distance Path (GR – 249, Stage 2: Rincón de la Victoria – Vélez –Málaga), the section under the rocky outcrop called Peñon del Toro, from Almayate to Los Toscanos, due to works.
