Itinerary
The second section of this route goes through some hundred-year-old olive groves to the kilometre marker 23. Its second part is more spectacular as it runs between the water wheels of Aceña and Agusadera, along the ticket and trees on the riverbank of the Genil and past its pools to the end of this section.
Summary
This trail which is an alternative to stages 14 and 15 of the Great Málaga Path goes along the clayey and chalky mountainsides which give rise to southern tributary system of the Genil River at the altitude of Iznájar Reservoir. The second part of this walk goes down to the river and along its banks covered in thicket and trees. The longest part of this trail runs through the towns of Cuevas de San Marcos and Villanueva de Algaidas. First several kilometres of the trail run through the town where it starts.
The best
The walk along the Genil riverbanks river in the direction of the water flow, through the olive groves, and spectacular wheels of Aceña and Agusadera are the best parts of this trail.
