El Caminito del Rey, the Great Málaga’s Path and the Coastal Path are to be presented at the great tourist fair in Catalonia

The Costa del Sol Tourism is presenting the Great Challenge, a project that promises to attract up to 2.5m tourists a year at B-Travel fair.

Hotels from the province welcomed more than 102,000 Catalonians in 2014. There were more than 360,000 overnight stays.

This new tourist inducement that includes El Caminito del Rey, and the Great and Coastal Path, which all together form the Great Challenge, are travelling to B-Travel fair in Barcelona. This year’s fair will replace the SalónInternacionaldelTurismo en Cataluña (CataloniaInternationalTourismShow).

At this multi-segment fair,which will be held from tomorrow to Sunday, April 19th, the Costa del Sol Tourism is going to promote its new tourist attractions that are supposed to bring 2.5m tourists a year.

President of the Costa del Sol Tourism Elias Bendodo emphasised the importance of this event which is dedicated to professionals as well as to tourists. This way, the destination of the Costa del Sol is going to be presented directly to final consumers, who come in search of inspiration and information about their future journeys. There will be round 27,000 attendants, which was the number of visitors at the last CataloniaInternationalTourismShow.

Moreover, the County Council President reminded about the presence of Catalonians at the Costa del Sol. This is the third biggest national market after Andalusia and Madrid. More precisely, hotels from the province welcomed more than 102,000 Catalonians in 2014, and there were more than 360,000 overnight stays.

Besides the Great Challenge, the Costa del Sol, which go to Barcelona in co-operation with the Tourism and Trade Department of Andalusian Regional Government, will supply tourists with everything this destination offers, and with unique places from the towns and villages of the Province of Málaga.

More than fifty countries

This year’s B-Travel fair is aiming to become an exhibition of travel experiences, specialized in family travel, gastronomic, wine, cultural, nautical, rural, adventure or shopping tourism.

This fair unites almost 200 exhibitors, who represent round a thousand companies, suppliers of national and international destinations, travel agencies, hotels, shipping companies and tourist products and services. Additionally, more than fifty countries from all over the world meet up. They are European (Italy, Portugal, France, Croatia, and Germany), Asian (China, India or Singapore), and North African countries (Morocco, and Tunisia).
